Unlocking The Modem with The Unlock Code

To make use of the unlock code, insert an unauthorized sim card to your Huawei modem. Unauthorized sim card meaning sim card from any operators other than the one the modem is currently locked to.
When you do so, you would be prompt for the modem’s unlock code. Just enter the unlock code you have received earlier and voila, you can now use your Huawei USB modem with sim cards from any other operator.
I have tested it on my E1762 and it worked perfectly.

How To Make A Portable Version Of Winamp For Your USB Drive

A lot of people use USB MP3 players these days, but why not the other way around? Using a standard USB stick (often way cheaper), we can have our music on the go as well.

With the lack of headphone support, you won’t be able to use it on the bus, or in the queue at the supermarket, but if you often use different computers – at home, at work, at school and at a friend’s place – it really pays to carry your collection with you.

By loading the Winamp portable media playing software on a USB stick, as well as your music library, you can listen to your tunes everywhere, as if you were at home.

Winamp

The Winamp music player is still something of a phenomenon. It eats memory like a vegan (which is: nearly nothing) but can play almost any type of file. Even a lot of ‘newer’ media players are based on Winamp. This all comes to show how powerful and influential Winamp really is. Best yet, we can easily take a regular Winamp install and adapt it to our portable drive.

Start out by downloading and running the Winamp Setup. Install to a subfolder of your portable drive, or simply copy the Winamp application folder from Program Files to your USB stick afterwards.

Next, create a winamp.cmd file in the Winamp folder of your portable drive. You can do this by creating a new text document, and adding

start winamp.exe /inidir=ini

Then either save the file, and change the extension from .txt to .cmd, or (in Notepad) use File -> Save As… -> All Files and save it manually as winamp.cmd

If all went well, you should have a strange new file there, one that you can’t open with a text editor anymore.

Double-click the file to execute it. This will launch the Winamp configuration wizard. Make sure that all file associations are unchecked in step 2. Otherwise, your computer will try to use your Winamp portable drive whenever you prompt to open a file – even when your USB stick isn’t inserted.

In the third and final step of the configuration wizard, make sure to uncheck theanonymous usage statistics. If you don’t, Winamp will send periodical reports of the application. Albeit anonymous, a lot of computers won’t like a portable application that tries to connect to the internet.

That’s it, you’ve now got an installation of Winamp that’s fully portable. You can use it not only to play back your files, but to build and manage a portable music library, just like iniTunes, err, Winamp.

If you want Winamp to run whenever you insert your USB stick into a computer, you must create an autorun.inf file. This is the same kind of file that’s present on most software installation CDs.

Simply create a new text documents and insert the following lines:

Open=Winamp\winamp.exe
Action=Start Winamp Music Player

Next, go to File -> Save As… -> All Files and save it as autorun.inf, or just edit the file extension manually. If it doesn’t work, make sure that the specified directory path is correct, and that autorun is enabled on your computer.

When THAT installation has finished, you’ll be given the option to import either IE or Firefox favourites as well as your Wi-fi settings, which is a nice touch. Restart the machine, and your boot menu will now show you a SplashTop OS option too. The boot-up is hardly instant, but it’s certainly faster than Windows.

If you are running lots of background apps in Windows when you really just need the Internet, it’s a pain to close them all after a Windows restart just to get a quick speed up. On limited netbook machines, every ounce of computing power that you can squeeze out is important.

Sandboxes Security

You can’t download files to your hard drive, only to USB drives. While this might be annoying, it does provide a great deal of security by preventing browser based attacks – of which there are none for Chrome anyway.

Easy Reset

For security reasons or anonymity, there is a Restore Defaults option under theEnviromental Settings -> General screen. It will wipe everything, and restore the initial OS image.

Making Use Of An Old Computer

Okay, so you need to install Windows first, but then you can install the lightweight SplashTop OS for daily use as a basic Internet station.

Although I wasn’t able to make screenshots within the OS, here’s a short video from SplashTop to tempt you.

If you’re worried about trying this out on your main machine then bear in mind it unfortunately won’t work on a virtual machine (at least it wouldn’t for me). Don’t worry though, an uninstall option is added to your Windows installed programs list so it’s easy to get rid of if you don’t like it.

Conclusion

Despite apparently being powered by Bing, all my test searches using the browser bar defaulted to Google, so don’t let the Bing branding scare you off. It’s simple, lightweight, perfect for a quick browsing session on a netbook. It’s not going to replace your main Windows installation, and it’s not supposed to – it’s complementary. If you’re living in the cloud though, it’s a great way to simplify your computing experience.

In the last several years, portable apps have really gained huge popularity among Windows users. As the name suggests, the concept of portable apps enables us to use our favorite software without having to install it first. It means that we can carry the applications on our USB drive or store them somewhere in the cloud and use them from any compatible computer.

But if you have a huge collection of portable applications on your thumb drive, you will know that keeping the apps and actually using them are two different things. Going back and forth from/to the portable app folder to open the apps could end up becoming annoying over time.  Therefore we need the help of a portable application launcher, and CodySafe is one of the most recommended names.

An Application Launcher & More

One of the biggest problems of portable applications is their absence from the local hard disk and Start Menu. So the only way to open them is by navigating Windows Explorer to the app’s location and selecting the items manually. If you want to, you can install the app in the hard drive and use it as an application launcher.

One of the cool features bundled with CodySafe is the “Drive Doctor“. This tool will help you scan your disk, prevent virus infections (with ViruSense), and fix disk errors. You can also automate the scanning process if you want to.

Another interesting feature is “Find-If-Lost“. CodySafe will help you create a text file with your contact details inside the public area of your USB drive. These details will help kind-hearted people to return the drive to you if they happen to stumble onto your lost drive.

Even though creating a text file with your contact information is simple enough, only a few people have ever thought about it. Besides, creating one using CodySafe tool is faster and more fun.

If you are a keyboard person and prefer shortcut keys to the mouse, you can work with portable applications faster by defining your own “Hot Keys”. You can assign a hot key to an action by clicking on the field in the “Hot Keys” column.

Last but not least, I think “Applications Manager” is the most important feature of all. It’s the place to add portable applications to be managed by CodyFree. Just browse to the location of the portable app that you want to add and click “Apply“. Repeat the process for other portable apps.

If you want your portable applications to run automatically every time you plug in your thumb drive to a computer, go to the “Autorun Management” tab and add the portable apps to the list.

Advanced users can add scripts to the environment. The scripts will help you to make something happens before and/or after CodySafe runs.

10 Youtube URL Tricks You Should Know About

Youtube – You know that site with videos and all. Yeah! It turns out that its quite popular and you happen to visit and use it quite often. Instead of just searching and playing here are some top Youtube URL tricks that you should know about:

1. View high quality videos

Youtube gives you the option to switch to high quality videos for some of the videos, however you can check if a video is available in high quality format by appending ‘&fmt=18′(stereo, 480 x 270 resolution) or ‘&fmt=22′(stereo, 1280 x 720 resolution) for even higher quality.

2. Embed Higher Quality Videos

While the above trick works for playback, if however you want to embed hig quality videos you need to append “&ap=%2526fmt%3D18″ and “&ap=%2526fmt%3D22″ to the embed url.

3. Cut the chase and link to the interesting part

Linking to a video where the real action starts at 3 minutes 22 seconds, wondered if you could make it start at 03:22? You are in luck. All you have to do is add #t=03m22s (#t=XXmYYs for XX mins and YY seconds) to the end of the URL.

4. Hide the search box

The search box appears when you hover over an embedded video. To hide the search box add ‘&showsearch=0′ to the embed url.

5. Embed only a part of Video

Just append ‘&start=30′ to skip first 30s of the video. In general you can modify the value after start= to the number of seconds you want to skip the video for.

6. Autoplay an embedded video

Normally when you embed a Youtube video and load the page, the player is loaded and it sits there waiting for you to hit the play button. You can make the video play automatically by adding ‘&autoplay=1′ to the url part of the embed code.

7. Loop an embedded video

Append ‘&loop=1′ to make the video start again without user intervention after it reaches the end.

8. Disable Related Videos

Publishing your content in the form of Youtube video? Don’t want people to see other people’s content that may be related but may as well be in competition to you? Just add ‘&rel=0′ to the end of the url part of the embed code and you just turned off the related video suggestions!

9. Bypass Youtube Regional Filtering

Some videos are only available in certain parts of the world. Your IP Address is used to determine your location and then allow or deny access to the video. Change the url from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=<somecode> to http://www.youtube.com/v/<somecode>

10. Download Video

Although not inherently a youtube trick but useful all the same for downloading videos. Just change youtube to kickyoutube in the url of the video and it will take you to kickyoutube.com with all the options for downloading the video you were watching.

Cara penghasilan entri dalam blog merupakan element yang perlu dititikberatkan untuk menaip dalam blog. Walaupun blog tidak mempunyai format untuk menaip seperti mana karangan bahasa melayu, tetapi cara menghasilkan entri dalam blog penting untuk mencerminkan bagaimana pemilik blog menguruskan blog sendiri.



Cara menaip yang bagus juga akan memastikan pengunjung blog anda akan tertarik kepada blog anda, ditambah pula dengan faktor-faktor lain. Boleh dikatakan, cara menaip dalam blog antara perkara yang tidak boleh dipandang enteng oleh pemilik blog.

Apakah cara/bagaimanakah kandungan blog yang sepatutnya untuk menaip sesebuah entri?.


1. Perenggan

Ini sebenarnya antara perkara yang paling penting semasa menaip sesuatu dalam blog. Tidak kiralah samada blog berbentuk peribadi, maklumat, perkongsian, pengalaman atau apa sahaja. Perenggan akan memudahkan pengunjung blog anda membaca apa yang anda hendak sampaikan. Dan juga mempengaruhi pemahaman untuk sesebuah entri.

Ini adalah perenggan kedua. Tengok untuk taip point ini pun perenggan di buat untuk memudahkan anda membaca bukan.?.:). Bayangkan kalau sesebuah entri itu mempunyai ayat yang berterusan 1000 patah perkataan, tidak ke letih mata melihatnya. Hendak membaca pun boleh jadi tiada mood.:). Lagipun karangan masa sekolah pun diajar untuk buat perenggan, jadi kenapa tidak aplikasikan dalam penulisan blog.:)


2. Perkataan.

Perkataan juga memainkan peranan dalam menghasilkan sebuat entri yang baik. Pastikan kalau bleh anda menggunakan perkataan bahasa baku sebanyak mungkin dan penting juga perkataan yang anda gunakan mudah difahami oleh pengunjung. Sekali sekala tiada masalah kalau hendak guna short form atau perkataan meleret. Tapi kalau selalu sangat, hendak membaca pun tergeliat lidah hendak menyebutnya.

Contoh, Sayeeerr sukerr sangat tawww...Kalau ayat macam ini diletakkan untuk dialog ok lagi. Kalau sepanjang-panjang entri perkataan macam ini, sakit juga hendak membaca.:). tujuan menghasilkan entri juga untuk memudahkan kefahaman kepada pengunjung blog. Contoh walaupun anda seorang doctor, takkan semua entri hendak guna bahasa saintifik je kan. Lainlah kalau pengunjung blog anda semuanya doktor.:)


3. Entri jangan terlalu panjang.

Mungkin anda seorang yang begitu hebat mengarang. Tetapi kehebatan anda mengarang sehingga sehari tanpa henti bukan petunjuk yang baik kepada pengunjung anda. Pembaca juga akan merasa bosan jika entri yang dihasilkan terlalu panjang. Lagi satu, jika entri terlalu panjang, kemungkinan untuk melalut (lari dari tajuk entri) juga boleh berlaku.

Oleh itu biarkan entri anda bersesuaian untuk dibaca, mungkin ambil masa 5 minit berbanding anda menghasilkan entri yang memerlukan 1jam untuk habiskan.:).
Tetapi, jika memang anda anda perkara bagus atau penting untuk diberitahu pengunjung, boleh dijadikan dalam beberapa bahagian entri. seperti part 1, part 2 dan seterusnya. Itu akan lebih selesa di baca berbanding satu entri yang terlalu panjang.

Teknik meningkatkan trafik di blog

Bagaimana nak meningkatkan traffik blog korang dan secara tak langsung meningkatkan juga pendapatan sampingan di internet. Ok, make it simple la ek?

1. Ping URL blog korang at least sehari sekali..

Banyak website yang menyediakan web ping ni, search sahaja Ping di Google. Antara website popular yang selalu gunakan untuk Ping adalah di Pingler dan juga Ping My Blog.
Ping ni bertujuan memberitahu semua jenis search engine supaya cepat hantar tentera spider dia tu ke blog korang. Ini akan membuatkan setiap entri yang korang tulis, tak sampai 10 minit dah ada di Google. Ingat, lakukan sehari sekali atau mungkin setiap kali selepas buat entri baru.

2. Submit URL website korang khas untuk Google

Kalau ditanya, search engine apa yang paling top dan paling berkesan sekarang ni, ada lagi tak antara reader di Justkhai ni yang tak kenal Google tu ape? Hehehe. Kalau rasa diri tu kenal, submit URL blog korang khas untuk Google sahaja.

3. Kerap menambah artikel baru (update blog)

Ini sangat penting sebenarnya. Blog yang entrinya di'update sebulan sekali atau dua, kerat jari kalau ada yang popular. Oleh itu, korang kena la rajin update blog tu at least seminggu 2 3 kali. Kalau hari-hari lagi bagus. Nak lagi bagus, buat sebanyak mungkin entry.
Setiap kali korang update blog dan ping, search engine akan menghantar spider mereka untuk di'crawl dan hasilnya kalau hari-hari dah Google buat lawatan rasmi kat blog korang sebab ada entri baru, kerat leher pulak kalau blog korang tak boleh nak ada dalam senarai paling atas dalam search engine.

4. Ikut suara majoriti. Jangan ikut kepala sendiri

Majoriti taknak blog yang bila masuk ada keluar lagu. Majoriti taknak blog yang tulisannya kecil besar dan bewarna warni. Majoriti taknak blog yang font yang sukar untuk di baca. Majoriti tak nak blog yang macam diari persendirian. Jadi terpulang untuk korang ikut suara majoriti atau minoriti.

5. Masuk blog orang lain dan tinggalkan komen

Jangan jadi silent reader jika korang ada blog. Tinggalkan komen dan kalau entri kat blog orang lain tu berkaitan dengan mana-mana entri korang, mungkin korang boleh trackback korang di bahagian link blog mereka. Selalunya komen yang beserta link, akan di'flag sebagai SPAM. Kalau tuan rumah baik hati, dia approve la komen korang tu. So nak elakkan benda-benda macam ni, buang http:// dari trackback yang korang tinggalkan.

6. Rajinkan diri bertukar-tukar link

Selalu dengar orang cakap "jom link exchange" atau "jom tukar2 link" kan? Jadi rajinkan diri untuk bertukar-tukar link dengan owner blog yang baru korang jumpa. Letakkan link mereka di siderbar blog menggunakan fungsi asas yang ada pada WordPress dan Blogspot.

7. Aktifkan RSS blog korang

Masuk Google Feedburner dan gunakan pelbagai kelebihan yang ada di sana.  Jika subscriber korang dah mencecah 400 orang, untuk dapat trafik 400 sehari tu celah jari jer. Percayalah.

8. Tampal link blog kat mana sahaja

Korang ada Myspace, ada Friendster, ada Tagged dan mungkin Facebook kan? Ape lagi, tampal address blog korang kat blog. Sentiasa letakkan URL blog pada status web tersebut. Nak lagi best, rajin-rajin hantar komen ikhlas diikuti dengan link ke blog korang diakhir komen, mesti lagi ramai yang klik. Web-web tu semua popular dan diorang kasi korang promo free je kat situ. Apesal tak ambil kesempatan?

9. Pasang semua Plugin-Plugin wajib

Banyak plugin wajib yang perlu korang pasang kalau guna WordPress. Antaranya Google Analyticator yang memudahkan proses penggunaan Google Analytic. Google Analytic ni sangat penting sebab inilah applikasi yang akan merekod segala data-data berkenaan reader korang. Apa yang dia search sampai termasuk blog korang, apa yang dia cari, dari blog mana dia klik link blog korang dan macam-macam lagi. Harap teknik ni membantu mereka yang newbie untuk menarik trafik ke blog at least dijamin dalam masa 3 bulan pasti berkesan. InsyaAllah kerana ape kawan-kawan? Usaha dan tawakal adalah segala-galanya.. Hehehe..

Pemasangan Cumulus Tag Cloud adalah widget yg amat menarik dalam sesebuah blog! Cumulus Tag Cloud merupakan widget yang direka untuk pengguna Wordpress , tetapi sudah terdapat coding utk digunakan dalam blogspot. Aplikasi Cumulus Tag Cloud adalah sebuah aplikasi yg menggunakan Flash. Untuk memasang dalam blogger, anda hanya perlu untuk copy dan paste code ke bahagian template Blog anda, walaubagaimanapun ada tweaks untuk widget ini memerlukan beberapa pengeditan secara manual.
